Minimally Invasive
Spine Surgery

In general, the goal of minimally invasive spine (MIS) surgery is to stabilize the vertebral bones and spinal joints and/or relieve pressure being applied to the spinal nerves — often a result of conditions such as spinal instability, bone spurs, herniated discs, scoliosis or spinal tumors.

 Total Disc Replacement Surgery

Motion Preserving Total
Disc Replacement Surgery

Total disc replacement surgery is designed to relieve pain and improve patient outcomes by removing the degenerated disc and replacing it with an artificial disc. Lumbar Disc Replacement (LDR) is an alternative to spinal fusion surgery that fuses two vertebrae together to treat Degenerative Disc Disease. Compared to fusion, LDR provides increased range of motion and flexibility, is less invasive, and has fewer post-surgery complications.

Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion proceedure

Anterior Lumbar
Interbody Fusion

ALIF is one of five different types of lumbar interbody fusion and differs from other interbody fusion procedures as it is done through the abdomen as opposed to being accessed through the back. As one of the procedures that Dr. Kerner does often, ALIF STALIF M has been proven to restore spinal balance, recreate spinal alignment and stability, and accelerate the return to normal activities.
